TOKYO (AFP) – On Monday Japan and Australia said that they had come to a point which is a “substantive agreement” that has been pending since long. This was an effort for an exceptional opening in to Japan’s protected markets. Successful though after previous agreements did not reach a conclusion.
The deal was disclosed on Monday in Tokyo by the Japanese PM Shinzo Abe with the visiting Australian Prime Minister, Tonny Abbott, during a seminar.
As aided by the press conference, “It will create significant new trade and investment opportunities for the two countries soon”.
Communicating with the media, Mr. Abbott stated, “truly an historic occasion for both of our countries”. With both parties also supportive to enhance assistance in security, this will add to the joint defense development between the two countries.
