Mozilla named Chris Beard as its new interim CEO on Monday. He is also a new member of the board of directors. Earlier this month, Chris worked at Mozilla as the head of its marketing, product, and innovation teams as the most recent CMO. Mozilla might extend him the contract for a permanent CEO.
Hardly a week after Beard’s appointment, the former CEO, Bredan Eich left the office due to staff’s uneasiness for his opposition of ban on same-sex marriage in California, where Mozilla’s HQ is based. At Bredan’s appointment, 3 other board members also resigned and stated that he was not the correct person for this job.
