ITALY: Areas between Modena and Bologna in Italy were hit by severe winds and some small tornadoes, on April 30, causing extensive damage to buildings. The cost of the damage is expected to run into millions of euro. About 5 people were reported to be injured. Nonantola, a town in the province of Modena in the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy. It is located in the Po Valley about 10 km from Modena on the road to Ferrara. With a total population of around 14,022. Nonantola is not really expected to have severe tornado like this hit.
The engineers at Civil Protection are still at work to calculate the total damage. The tornado caused heavy damage to many buildings including the tailgate of the headquarters of Bosch, carrying it of to about 100 meters away.
