Tiger Woods, the famous American golfer, said that he will miss the US Open next month, as he hasn’t yet recovered from his back surgery.
On Wednesday, Woods, who has already won the US Open title three times, said on his own website that he is still not physically fit to play aggressive golf. On March 31, he underwent a surgery in which a pinched nerve was fixed in his back.
Due to his surgery, he could not play the Masters, and this is the first time in his entire career, that he missed it. Just recently, he also lost his top position in the world ranking to Adam Scott.
The 38-year old, Woods, who is the current PGA Tour Player of the Year, has only made four starts worldwide during the ongoing season. His best game was a tie for 25th at the WGC-Cadillac Championship held in March. Moreover, this was the last tournament he played before the surgery.
In 2008, he won the US Open title for the third time, which was his 14th major championship, and it remains his latest major victory.
Woods will also miss the championship to be held next month at North Carolina’s Pinehurst No. 2, and this will be the sixth time that he will miss a major due to surgery.
