File managers are no less than a blessing when someone is looking for a specific file within an app. Surprisingly, none of the popular mobile platforms own a native file manager. Till now, Microsoft is the only one to correct course.
There is no doubt that Windows Phone has not added apps to its app store consistently, however, Microsoft has developed a lot of handy native features in Windows Phone 8.1, with its recent build of OS. Moreover, a native file manager, ‘Files‘ has just popped up. Microsoft already had announced during a Reddit AMA, that Files would soon be coming.
The app comes along with a wide range of utilities that are common in many file managers. But, allows users to not only access their files on the phone memory, but also on the SD card. It also allows people to look for some specific files, and also share one or more files. In addition to this, copying, renaming, basic folder creation, and moving or deleting functions are also integrated.
However, the app is presently available only on Windows Phone 8.1, and it is yet to roll out for all gadgets with 8.0. Those who desire to get the app instantly on their latest Windows Phone version, they need to register themselves as a developer to try out the update before it rolls out on 24th June.
