In Nebraska, a mighty storm led to twin tornadoes killing at least two people and injuring 19 others. The ones killed also included a five year old child.
This Monday, the two tornadoes plowed over the small farming town of Pilger, Nebraska, and destroyed around half of the structures in the community. The authorities say that the first tornado hit around 3:45 pm and destroyed several power lines before leveling a farm house.
At least two people have lost their lives, while around two dozen people have been injured, after the tornadoes severely damaged the small farming community of around 400 people.
Mike Unger of Stanton County Sheriff said that the tornadoes demolished everything in their paths. According to him, “The village of Pilger is basically what we would say, the majority of the village is destroyed.”
Mary Ann Wimhoff, who survived the tornadoes, said, “It’s just unbelievable cause you’re just kind of in a state of shock because you can’t believe that it can be gone so fast.”
Nebraska’s governor has declared an emergency within the community and he himself will visit the town on Tuesday. Moreover, it is also expected that the tornadoes might also threaten Chicago and Milwaukee.
