(BRAZIL) – On Tuesday, three matches were played in the FIFA World Cup 2014. In the first game, Belgium was up against Algeria, both teams playing their opening matches in the tournament. Algeria had performed better in its previous games, as compared to Belgium, and it was leading the game 1-0 till the end of the first half.
However, in the second half, Belgium showed good reflexes and scored two goals in the 70th and 80th minute of the game and were able to sustain their lead over Algeria till the end of the match. Belgium won the match 2-1. Marouane Fellaini and Dries Mertens scored the two goals for Belgium, while, Sofiane Feghouli was the only goal scorer for Algeria.
The second game was played between the host team Brazil and Mexico. Both teams had won their opening matches of the tournament. However, Brazil was a far better team than Mexico. Brazil, as usual, was quite attacking and aggressive in their game. They attacked the goal of the opponent team many times. However, there was one player who with his extraordinary stops, saved the game for Mexico. He was none other than their goalkeeper, Guillermo Ochoa, who was also declared the man of the match courtesy his fine performance. The match between the two teams ended in a 0-0 draw.
The third and last game of the day was played between Russia and Korea Republic. No team managed to score a goal in the first half of the game. However, in the 68th minute of the second half, K H Lee of Korea scored a goal, giving his team a 1-0 lead over Russia. In the 74th minute, Russia’s Aleksandr Kerzhakov leveled the scores with his goal. After that, no team managed to score a goal, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Meanwhile, England’s midfielder, Frank Lampard says that the intense scrutiny of Wayne Rooney should now end. He thinks that there is a specific agenda behind the strong criticism of the Manchester United striker, which is counter productive.
Today, three matches will be played in the FIFA World Cup. In the first game, Australia and Netherlands of Group B meet each other at 13:00 local time.

Australia has only won a single match of the last five of its matches, lost three, and one match ended in a draw. On the other hand, Netherlands have secured three wins in their last five games, and have lost only once. One match ended in a draw.

Spain was defeated badly in their opening game of the tournament by Netherlands. Inspite of that, Spain has managed three wins in their last five games and has lost twice. On the other side, Chile has won four of their last five games including the recent win against Australia in their opening game of the tournament, while it has lost just once.
