Adam Richman’s ‘Man Finds Food’, which was set for a premiere on Wednesday, has been postponed by the Travel Channel, after the show’s host burst at his followers on Instagram over a contentious hashtag.
The 40-year old Richman hosts many successful programs on the network, including Best Thing I Ever Ate and Man vs Food. However, last week, the famous TV personality led to a social media controversy after he captioned an Instagram selfie “#thinspiration,” a term usually used on websites encouraging bulimia and anorexia.
The screenshots taken by a blogger Amber Sarah indicate that as soon as the activists drew Richman’s attention towards the dangerous meaning of the word, he lashed out.
He was found writing in the exchange, “Seriously grab a razor blade & draw a bath. I doubt anyone will miss you.”
However, as of now, his Instagram account is private. Not to forget, just recently, Rihanna’s Instagram account was removed because of posting inappropriate images.
On Tuesday, Richman apologized ABC News. In his statement, he said, “I’ve long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight. I’m incredibly sorry to everyone I’ve hurt.”
Moreover, the foodie just celebrated his 70-lb weight loss by posing naked for the July issue of Cosmopolitan UK. Also, in December, he wrote about his weight loss in Men’s Health, saying, “I went in for a checkup, and when my doctor had me stand on a scale, even he was surprised. Seeing that number (which I’ll take to the grave) was a turning point. I knew I needed to make a change.”
