Argentina’s Lionel Messi paid tribute to Real Madrid’s legend Alfredo Di Stefano, who passed away on Monday at the age of 88.
Alfredo was an Argentine-Spanish footballer and coach, and is considered as one of the greatest players of all time. He was associated mostly with Real Madrid, and played an important role in their domination of European Champions Cup in the period of 1950’s. Though he represented Spain in most of his International career, however, he also played for Argentina and Colombia.
In his message, Messi said:
“The world lost a legend today, Don Alfredo Di Stefano. An amazing man on and off the field. My thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Also, Portuguese star footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo paid tribute to the legendary footballer. He tweeted:

Alfredo leaves behind Sara Freites, his wife, and six children, Alfredo, Ignacio, Sofia, Silvana, Helena, and Nanette, who passed away in December 2012.
