Samsung Electronics partnered with International Talent Support (ITS), a worldwide platform and contest for rising young and creative talent, to design Samsung Galaxy Award, which is a distinct competition within ITS plan. As a worldwide leader in mobile phone technology, Samsung is committed to inspire and support the coming generation, specially those having creative minds. With its Galaxy Award, Samsung seeks to provide an opportunity to the young talented designers to present their creative techniques and design a vision by creating a prototype product built via Diesel denim that symbolizes the convergence of fashion and technology.
Ten finalized participants will be chosen from ITS Fashion, its accessories and from its jewelry competition areas to introduce two prototype proposals for the protection and carrying of new Samsung Galaxy Tab S.
Out of these, 10 prototypes will be selected to be displayed during the final round to be held on July 11 and July 12. The brainstorming sketches and designs were drawn with the help of a S Pen and a Samsung Note tablet. There were no checks on what the ultimate prototype could possibly be; a bag, a case, a cover, or something else that the creativity of finalists would inspire.
Furthermore, Diesel, a collaborator of ITS, since its first edition launched in 2002, as well as a leading denim pioneer best known for moving ahead of and outside industry trends, has further added innovation to the competition, as the finalists will now use the iconic denim fabric of the brand as the principal material for each one of the prototypes. The finalized prototypes will symbolize the union of unique design and advanced form that will increase the remarkable experience of using the mobile devices of Samsung.
True to the spirit of ITS, the winner will be selected jointly from the votes of four united juries of ITS that includes Fashion, Artwork, Accessories and Jewelry, along with an input from a jury of Samsung representatives, including Younghee Lee, the Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics Mobile Communication Division. Moreover, by producing the best suited accessory to hold the Samsung Galaxy Tab S that is unique as well as effective, the winner will get the Samsung Galaxy Award of €10,000.
